All the recent Drupal buzz got Chris Johnson pinging me to make the Drupalized tcphp.org site live. Chris began setting it up in January, and I let it languish in neglect while we both went on to publicly praise the benefits of this powerful CMS. It is always better to eat your own dog food, so here's me bustin' out the Alpo: www.tcphp.org
If you had an account at the old tcphp.org site, you should be able to login at the new site. Please try use it instead of creating a new login!
The site has all kinds of new features, but here's a summary of the most important ones:
MEMBER DIRECTORY
Post your profile, skills and interests for all the world to see. The list is browseable by skill, employment status and location. If you're looking for work or just want the world to know how cool you are, login and post your skills and interests now!
MEETING NOTES
This group gained a whole lot of recognition back in the early days, thanks to Tim's excellent meeting notes. All of these notes have been imported into the Drupal site, and now *anybody* can pick up that torch by posting and commenting on meeting notes of their own.
RESOURCES SECTION
We still have support for articles, book reviews and weblinks; and have imported all of the existing ones from the old site. Please help tcphp grow and stay a strong local resource by contributing to this section!
FORUM
We've gone back and forth on whether or not to have a forum, and the preference is usually for the immediate support provided by the mailing list. But that doesn't mean we can't have our cake and eat it too! If someone posts an interesting code snippet or answers a frequently-asked question on the list, please make sure to post the more "permanent" information on the forum
NEWS FEEDS
What geek site is complete without one-stop RSS shopping?
There's also a chatbox, commenting capabilities and a fresh write-up on the group's history and supporters. Please do check it out!
